CoolSculpting – Fat Freezing
WHAT IS COOLSCULPTING® – LIPOSUCTION?
CoolSculpting works with cryolipolysis and can be seen like a non surgical liposuction, fat reduction or the popular name fat freezing. This works by cooling fat cells to -12 below freezing. Fat freezing happens at a higher temperature to the cells in other surrounding tissues, which allows CoolSculpting to safely deliver precisely controlled cooling to fat cells underneath the skin*.
The treatment causes the fat cells to crystallise and undergo natural apoptosis. Over time your body naturally processes the fat and reduces the number of fat cells, leaving you with a more sculpted physique*.
The CoolSculpting fat-freezing procedure is the only FDA-cleared,* non-surgical fat reduction or liposuction treatment that uses controlled cooling to reduce stubborn fat that resists all efforts through diet and exercise. The results are proven, noticeable, and long lasting—so you’ll look great from every angle after your non surgical liposuction.
How does Fat Freezing / Fat Reduction work?
What areas can be treated?
Gentle pressure is then placed by the doctor to reposition the excess skin and any ‘left over’ stitch is then cut off. After the treatment, the threads will gradually anchor themselves to your tissue and stimulate the body’s collagen production, creating a smooth, shapely appearance that’s completely natural.
Most people do not feel anything during the procedure, aside from a tugging sensation where the skin is between the device’s two cooling panels.
As the procedure does not involve any cutting, tissue manipulation, or anaesthesia, most people do not need any recovery time and can immediately resume normal activities.
The only noticeable side effects of the procedure tend to be minor and occur only around the area of treatment. Most minor side effects reduce or go away within a few days to weeks after the procedure. It is normal, however, to experience numbness or loss of sensation in the treatment area for around a month.
Common immediate side effects of CoolSculpting include:
• pinching sensation
• minor swelling
• skin sensitivity
• mild to moderate pain
• muscle cramping
A person may continue to experience these side effects for a few weeks after the procedure. Other common side effects that a person may experience in the first few weeks after CoolSculpting include:
• itchiness, especially a few days after the procedure
• diarrhoea, as dead fat cells are removed from the body
• a feeling of fullness in the throat after treatments involving the neck or chin region
